Hematology / Oncology
Hematologists/Oncologists are physicians that specialize in blood disorders and cancer, enabling them to effectively administer chemotherapy treatments and conduct bone marrow transplants for cancer patients. They also address coagulation issues, anemia, and other blood disorders through transfusions, phlebotomy, and iron infusions. Some of our offices also offer treatment for other conditions that require infusion therapies. Our board-certified physicians on staff are supported by nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, social workers, case managers, specially trained registered nurses, and support staff.
At Upstate Medical University, our adult Hematology/Oncology services are available in multiple settings. We provide inpatient care at the downtown campus of University Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Additionally, we offer consulting services at our Community campus, Oswego Hospital, and Oneida Healthcare, extending our reach to better serve our patients. These services extend to a 17-county radius across Central New York.
