The Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program at Upstate Medical University offers an array of conferences as part of its comprehensive curriculum, covering core concepts and interdisciplinary studies within the field. These conferences provide fellows with a platform to gain industry knowledge, share insights, and present their research findings, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
Hematology Pathology Conference on Mondays at 4 p.m.
This presentation consists of reviewing slides with the pathology department to discuss the mechanism of disease and confirm a diagnosis.
Hematology Oncology Lecture Series on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4 p.m.
This is a didactic lecture series with a variety of presenters and topics focusing on hematology-oncology.
Fellow Report on Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Hematology/Oncology attendings and fellows pair up to discuss a topic of the attending's clinical focus.
Clinical Trials and Research Conference
This conference is held on the last Wednesday of each month.
Biannual BMT Conference
This biannual conference is held on a scheduled Wednesday in June and December. This date will be announced in advance.
Multidisciplinary Conferences
- Thoracic Oncology Program (TOP): Fellows assigned to the service will attend the conference and represent the division of Oncology. Wednesdays 1:00 pm–4:00 pm.
- Breast Cancer Program (BCP): Multidisciplinary case discussion/conference on Fridays at 4:00 pm.
- Head and Neck Tumor Conference: 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
- Thyroid Cancer Conference: 3rd Wednesday of each month.
- GYN Cancer Conference: 3rd Wednesday of each month.
