Conferences
Fellows are responsible for attending all conferences where attendance will be taken. Promptness is demanded. Attendance at 70% of all conferences is required for all fellows. If your conference attendance is poor, this could lead to not being promoted for the academic year.
Each academic year will start with a "Boot Camp" lecture series for incoming fellows. This series will give introductory lectures within the first 2 weeks in July. This will be followed by the following recurring conferences starting in September.
We are excited to announce the reformatting of our academic didactic sessions from virtual formats to engaging in-person half-day sessions held every other Thursday afternoon. This new structure allows for enhanced interaction and collaborative learning among faculty and fellows."
Session Schedule:
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Pulmonary Outpatient Hour
Kick off the afternoon with a focused hour dedicated to reviewing PFTs and CPETs from the week. Led by fellows and faculty on the outpatient/PFT rotation, this session will also include a journal club discussing a relevant outpatient article from the ATS reading list. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and share insights from clinical practice.
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Didactic Sessions
From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, we invite the entire faculty and fellows for an in-depth didactic experience, including:
- Presentations by scheduled faculty covering key topics in pulmonary medicine.
- Interactive board review using the SEEK Question Bank to enhance preparation.
- Case and imaging reviews presented by assigned fellows, providing real-world applications of our discussions.

Morbidity & Mortality Review Conference - Once a month on Wednesday from 7:30AM - 8:30AM. The purpose of this meeting is to review cases with unexpected or negative outcomes and to explore what could have been differently to achieve a better outcome. 2 fellows will be assigned to present during each conference.
