Schedules
The schedules in the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program have been designed to provide students with a wide range of experiences in their short time with us. At Upstate Medical University, we firmly believe in providing our learners with the tools and resources they need to be successful medical professionals in whatever specialty they choose.
Core Curriculum Rotations
There are several rotations a Fellow must complete throughout the Fellowship program. These rotations include:
- Upstate Medical University Hospital Clinical Service/Covered Teams
- Upstate Medical University Hospital Consult Service
- Upstate Medical University Hospital—Leukemia/Stem Cell Transplant
- Syracuse Veteran's Administration Medical Center Clinical Service
- Upstate Medical University Hospital at Community Campus—Consultative Service
- Research
- Special Rotations
- Outpatient Clinics

Non-Core Rotations
In addition to the Fellows’ core curriculum rotations, there are non-core rotations. These non-core rotations enrich the learners’ reach throughout Hematology and Oncology, allowing them hands-on experience in a range of specialized approaches.
These non-core rotations include:
- Radiation Oncology
- Hematopathology
- Gynecologic Oncology
- Palliative Care
