Nephrology
Our dedicated physicians specialize in delivering clinical care to adult patients who are affected by kidney disease, hypertension, and other kidney-related conditions.
We play a crucial role in providing medical guidance to a regional kidney transplant program, ensuring comprehensive support for patients with end-stage renal disease. This support encompasses a range of treatments, including intermittent hemodialysis, Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), Continuous Cycling Peritoneal Dialysis (CCPD), and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
The Nephrology division serves as the central hub for the management of patients with complex kidney stone issues, extending our services to communities in over 15 surrounding counties of Upstate New York.
At University Hospital alone, we conduct over 1,500 acute hemodialysis treatments, while the nearby University Dialysis Center and satellite units in Auburn and Oswego cater to the needs of nearly 250 chronic End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients, ensuring comprehensive nearby care.
